1. Who is responsible?

The controller for the processing of your personal data on www.caffe-billo.ch is:

In this policy we refer to ourselves as «Caffè Billo». If you have any questions about data protection, you can reach us at the contact details above.

2. Which law applies?

We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Data Protection Act (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies in an individual case, we comply with it as well.

3. Visiting the website

When you open our website, our hosting provider, Infomaniak Network SA in Geneva, stores technical access data: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser and operating system. This data is required for the secure and stable operation of the website. The servers are located in Switzerland.

4. Orders and customer account

When you place an order, we process the details you enter during checkout: name, billing and delivery address, e-mail address, telephone number, products ordered and payment method. We need this data to perform the contract: to process your order, deliver it, issue the invoice and answer any questions.

You can order as a guest or open a customer account. In your account you can see your orders and manage your addresses; you can ask us to delete the account at any time.

For delivery we pass your name and delivery address to Swiss Post or its partner companies.

We keep order and invoice data for as long as the law requires, as a rule ten years.

5. Payment

TWINT: the payment is handled by TWINT AG, Zurich, and your bank. We receive confirmation of the payment, but no account details.

Invoice: for purchases on invoice we use your billing address.

6. Contact forms, e-mail and WhatsApp

When you write to us using the contact form or the «For businesses» form, we receive your details by e-mail: name, e-mail address, optionally telephone number, company and your message. Form data is not stored on the website. We use it only to answer your enquiry.

Our e-mail mailbox is operated by Google (Gmail). E-mails sent to us are therefore processed on Google servers, which may also be located outside Switzerland.

The WhatsApp button takes you to WhatsApp (WhatsApp Ireland Limited). WhatsApp only receives your data once you send a message there; its data protection terms then apply.

7. Cookies and your consent

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use:

• Necessary cookies: for the shopping cart, signing in to your account, the language you selected and your cookie choice. Without them the shop does not work.
• Statistics and marketing cookies: only if you choose «Accept all» in the cookie window or switch them on under «Customise settings».

With «Necessary cookies only» you decline everything else. You can change your choice at any time via «Cookie settings» in the footer. The cookie window is powered by the Complianz software, which runs on our own server.

8. Analytics and advertising with Google

Only with your consent do we use the following services of Google Ireland Limited (Dublin, Ireland):

• Google Tag Manager: manages the services below and does not create profiles itself.
• Google Analytics 4: shows us how our website is used (pages visited, approximate location, device). IP addresses are shortened by Google.
• Google Ads with remarketing: measures whether an advert led to an order and makes it possible to show Caffè Billo adverts later to visitors of our website. For this purpose Google creates pseudonymous usage profiles.

Data may also be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. You can withdraw your consent at any time via «Cookie settings».

9. Reviews after purchase

After an order we invite you by e-mail to review the products you bought. To send this invitation we use the CusRev service (Customer Reviews), which receives your e-mail address, your name and the products ordered. If you do not wish to receive such an e-mail, a short message to us is enough. Reviews you submit appear on the product page under the name you chose.

10. Links to other websites

Our website contains links, for example to Google Maps and to our Facebook page. We do not embed these services: no data is transferred until you click the link. The terms of the respective provider then apply.

11. Disclosure and processing abroad

We do not sell personal data. We pass it on only as far as necessary for the purposes described in this policy: to our hosting provider, to the postal service, to payment services and to the Google, WhatsApp and CusRev services mentioned. Some of these providers also process data in the EU or in the USA. For the USA we rely on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses.

12. Your rights

You can ask at any time what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to the processing and withdraw a consent you have given. Please write to info@caffe-billo.ch. Statutory retention obligations remain reserved. You also have the right to contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

13. Data security

Our website is transmitted in encrypted form (HTTPS). We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures. However, we cannot guarantee complete security on the internet, in particular when sending e-mails.

14. Changes

We may adapt this privacy policy if our website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
